Roy D. Mansell
Roy Mansell is the managing partner of RA Financial Partners, LLC (RAFP) based in Chicago, Illinois, and partner in Periodic Financial Corporation, a boutique broker-dealer also headquartered in Chicago, with branches in Denver and Europe. He leads the direction of both companies, creating a cutting-edge business model specializing in alternative investment origination, structuring, and implementation within his core disciplines of environmental natural resource physical assets, real estate and technology. Mr. Mansell has 23 years of investment experience working in an array of roles with investment banks covering institutional clients. Initially attending Florida Tech University on a full basketball scholarship, Mr. Mansell earned his degree from DePaul University, and is New York Institute of Finance MBS Certified.
Kenneth Sandham is an entrepreneurial finance professional with a decades-long career spanning both public and private corporations. Mr. Sandham is a partner in Periodic Financial Corporation, a boutique broker-dealer also headquartered in Chicago, with branches in Denver and Europe. From C-Suite executive to consultant, Mr. Sandham has brought his high ethical standards to thriving, nascent, and struggling organizations across many industries. Mr. Sandham earned his B.A. in Business Administration from McMaster University, followed by his certification as a Chartered Professional Accountant of Canada (C.A.). After relocating to Florida, he continued his financial-oriented focus before concentrating on the renewable energy sector from 2009 onward. Mr. Sandham divides his time among the RAFP branches on an as-needed basis.
Dr. Selcuk Altay
Dr. Selçuk Altay specializes in enabling startup technology companies, mergers and acquisitions, and project financing. Currently, he is coordinator of a major Turkish investment firm and a partner of Omnis Terra Canada (OTC), a privately-owned, incorporated company headquartered in Toronto, with offices in Istanbul, Denver and Chicago. An entrepreneurial dual citizen of Canada and Turkey, he established, led and ultimately sold several engineering and manufacturing companies for the automotive, defense, machine parts, construction, and mining sectors worldwide. Dr. Altay started his professional career working in the earthquake engineering and design of nuclear reactors at Ebasco Services Inc. in New York (now part of a Raytheon subsidiary, United Engineers and Constructors), and at Canada’s Northern Telecom. He received his Ph.D. degree from the Civil and Environmental Engineering Dept. of Princeton University.
Sarah Brezniak is a seasoned business developer, program manager and research engineer with over 25 years of experience leading teams from industry, government, academia and international agencies. Ms. Brezniak works with startups and investors looking to combine new, enabling technologies (e.g. nanotech, IoT, AR/VR) with clean technology on innovative projects in the areas of safety, security and sustainability; she focuses on go-to-market strategy, product development and operational risk assessment. Ms. Brezniak earned a bachelor’s degree in chemical engineering from Stanford University and more recently a certificate in Energy Innovation & Emerging Technologies; she also won the top prize in MIT’s 2015 Climate CoLab competition in the Atypical Ideas for Carbon Neutrality category.
Haluk Gürsen is a business developer specializing in hospitality and entertainment, petrochemical, and renewable energy projects, and partner of Omnis Terra Canada (OTC), a privately-owned, incorporated company headquartered in Toronto, with offices in Istanbul, Denver and Chicago. He has proven his investment and project management expertise many times over, including most recently arranging EPC+ Financing for a $1.5 billion project in Turkey. His clients have ranged from the esteemed family company businesses Kosifler Group to large multi-national concerns, charged with the responsibility to develop Hilton and other hotels, plus sports, health, and educational projects. Mr. Gürsen launched his career doing trade between Turkey, Germany and the Netherlands after studying electronic engineering in Turkey’s prestigious Bosphorus University.
Igor Hensing provides engineering expertise, innovation and strategic advice, and project management in the global energy/raw materials industries, focusing on new technologies to create greater efficiencies and sustainability. Currently Executive Director at Innova Benelux, Netherlands, Igor also founded HMRE consultancy aimed to support the mining and raw materials processing sector achieve better environmental solutions, and co-founded HE3 Ltd (UK) which actively develops projects in energy transition and the circular economy. His work has taken him to remote locales, including Brazil, Chile, France, and China. Mr. Hensing is a partner in Periodic Financial Corporation, a boutique broker-dealer located in Chicago, with branches in Denver and Europe. A native of Maastricht, the Netherlands, Igor studied Mining and Petroleum Engineering, with degrees conferred by Delft University of Technology and Imperial College London.
Thomas M. Turmell
Thomas M. Turmell has provided capital, financial and operations management advisory services to small, medium, and growth businesses for over 25 years. Currently, Mr. Turmell is a Managing Director with TMT Capital Partners, LLC, a private investment firm focused on making controlled investments in manufacturing, distribution, and service companies. Mr. Turmell is also a director on Northwestern University’s Kellogg School of Management’s Executive Education team, participating in the design and delivery of custom educational programs for executives and entrepreneurs. A Michigan native, Mr. Turmell holds a BBA degree in Business Administration from the University of Notre Dame, and an MBA degree in Finance, Management and Strategy, and Organizational Behavior from the Kellogg School of Management.
